October 2007   CSS is chosen as a member of the construction team for the new Concordia University Student Housing facility to include category 6 cable installation, wireless access point installation, security camera installation and emergency intercom stations for the new 316 bed facility. Project completion scheduled for August 2008.
October 2007   CSS invited to join Minneapolis BOMA.

July 2007   CSS performs demolition of abandoned cabling on various floors for vacant office space in US Bank Plaza for Hines Interests in Minneapolis, MN.

June 2007   Prime Therapeutics enters into an agreement with CSS for the installation of over 600 category 5e cable locations, fiber backbone installation, and paging/sound masking for the 1020 Discovery Road office space. CSS performed removal and recycling of over 2,000 lbs. of abandoned cable prior to the installation of the new horizontal cabling.
June 2007   Mars, Inc. contracts with CSS to perform installation of horizontal cabling for new office space in LaSalle Plaza in Minneapolis, MN.

May 2007   Zeller Realty Group contracts with CSS to perform installation of horizontal cabling in the new offices at LaSalle Plaza in Minneapolis, MN.

April 2007   CSS is awarded contract for St Croix Falls Elementary School addition and remodeling. The project consists of installation of category 6A data; integrated voice, speaker, and clock wiring; TV distribution wiring and system installation; outside plant fiber installation; security cabling installation.
April 2007   Prime Therapeutics enters into agreement with CSS for the installation of new 2,000 sq. ft. Data Center and office space. CSS to provide equipment racks, overhead basket tray, copper and fiber connectivity within Data Center; Office wiring includes category 5e cabling and sound masking system installation.

February 7, 2007   Learn all about Abandoned Cabling from Communication Systems Specialists (CSS) - and pick up 1.5 CEU’s!

Chad Peterson, RCDD President of CSS will present a CEU certified seminar entitled “Abandoned Cabling” on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. The 1.5 hour (CEU credits pending approval) program will focus on some of the top issues relating to abandoned cables in corporate buildings and business complexes. Chad will teach you about relevant building codes, software programs that help you manage connections, important documentation and responsibilities, liabilities and opportunities.

• Time: 7:30 am (continental breakfast). 8:00 am - 9:30 am (seminar).
• Venue: St. Louis Park Recreational Center, 3700 Monterey Drive, St. Louis Park, MN.

January 19-25, 2007   Chad Peterson, RCDD attends BICSI conference in Orlando, FL. The BICSI winter conference is the leading conference in the world for showcasing new technologies and practices related to structured wiring installation and maintenance.
 

2006

December

December 21, 2006   CSS receives FIT (Firestop Installation Training) Level 1 certification through Specified Technologies Inc. The FIT training provides the training required to understand which UL system to choose for the application and also the proper way to install the chosen system. Having this training will insure a properly designed and installed fire stop solution for the customer's application. In addition to the field staff, Mark Yonekawa, VP of Operations; Chad Peterson, President also received the certification.

October 25, 2006   CSS is chosen by United Properties to perform abandoned cable removal, and riser management services for 8000, 8300, 8400, and 8500 Normandale office towers. CSS will provide on-going riser management and consulting services to the building management and tenants.
October 4, 2006   Communication Systems Specialists Vice President, Field Operations, Mark Yonekawa, holds Continuing Education class for Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) www.mnabc.com. The class provided 8 hours of DOL continuing education credits.    Registration form (pdf).

(Mark Yonekawa has previously taught on a variety of subjects in the low-voltage industry and is licensed with the city of St. Paul as an Adjunct Instructor. September 2006   CSS and Prime Therapeutics have entered into an agreement for the installation of structured cabling, paging and sound masking for the new pharmacy call center in Albuquerque, NM. The project consist of design and installation of nearly 500 data cables, 80 Atlas Sound paging speakers, 50 Atlas Sound masking speakers and fiber optic backbone connections. Scheduled completion is October, 2006.
